Where's the music in Nashville?

Nashville was a bust. The darkest and coldest place on tour yet. Phil from Voxhaul Broadcast did however let us all know how much fun he had and how happy he was in the bathroom of the venue....whatever that means:) ...and in case you are wondering the graffiti pic was taken inside the venue and it reads..."Muscle Brain". I wish I would of thought of that band name.

Elvis is a Bitchin God!

Gooooooood Ol'Mephis. All I can say is that we had our first encounter with the "South" in Memphis. Actual quote from our show at Buccaneers... (Local) "What boy?! You didn't like my story or what?" (Randy our merch guy) "I liked your story, I just thought it would end with you killing a guy?" (Local) "Well guess what, you are in luck because the night is still young!"

Thank you to Lydia for letting us use your shower and apartment. I'm sorry we didn't have time to check out Sun Studios.

Local Natives in Houston

Its only about a week into tour and I already forgot about Houston! New friends were found in a great little band called Eastern Sea, old friends/girlfriends were here to keep us warm and fuzzy and the owner of the bar let us in on a little homemade Houston Secret.....green cabbage ham and potato soup. Oh and in case you can't read the bathroom stall scribble that for some reason I thought was funny it says " Jesus Shaves, No He Waxes, Wax that ass! and taxes!"

Hattiesburg does not stand for Burg from Hell

Set the Scene:

Seventeen guys, two vans and one stolen giant red crayfish from Burger King hobbles into at the time "Unknown" Hattiesburg MS. My first impression was that one, the city was run by giant painted swans and two, that our party of seventeen was double the population.

It took us awhile to find the Thirsty Hippo. Within 15min of entering the venue I must say we were all pleasantly surprised. I can see why artists such as Dr. Dog and Feist have frequented this place. Provided for three out of town up and coming LA bands was a great feeling venue, a three bedroom apartment for us to crash in, free beer, great homemade pizza and a beautiful outdoor patio for smoking. The place filled out nicely with very nice people and the "Unknown" show turned out to be one of the best thus far.

New Orleans....a classier version of Las Vegas

There's truly something "magical" about New Orleans. The city takes all the best parts of Las Vegas(or vice versa) and combines it with real culture and art. I have to admit that I did not see any breasts flying rampantly nor did I black out on Hurricane and Hand Grenade sugar cocktails,but I think that is a good thing. We quickly ran into some locals and were welcomed in properly. Where else in the US can you find free jambalaya with $2 you call its?

It was truly a pleasure running into to you, Andrea, Nicole, Jeremy and Naomi. Thank you for your hospitality and say goodbye to The Chicken for me.

Local Natives New Year in Houston

Last nights Local Natives New years included:

Puke on my luggage, bloody noses, chicken fried steak dipped in ranch, drama at midnight, pringles a plenty, new friends, old friends, a 30min percussion jam, porno hotel rooms, unlocked bathroom stalls, daytrotter dreams,20min boys and girls room swaps and one hell of a new year!

We play in Houston again tonight. I have tons of video but I gotta downsize em first. I'll try to have them up today or tomorrow.
